Reserve Pinot Noir 2019 Magnum

The literal pick of the bunch.

Not produced in every vintage, our Reserve or 'R-Series' wines are hand selected barrels that stand apart from their fellows. Where our O-Series wines are the best blend we can create across the varied barrels, the R-Series is the very best single parcel. In this instance two barrels only, one brand new and one well seasoned.

From the 2019 vintage this is in fact the only Pinot Noir that made it to release. Our A-Series and O-Series Pinot Noirs had finalised blending and were racked and waiting in holding tanks when the devastation of the 2019 Cudlee Creek bushfires wreaked havoc. Although the winery remained intact, the radiant heat of the fire destroyed the wines in tank. However, the Reserve parcel was left in barrel longer, in a different location further from the fires and thus endured unscathed.

A single spectacular parcel, with a deep nose of dried herbs and potpourri serving as the vanguard for a palate of intense dark cherry.
